As for who he tabbed as opening acts? Bentley chose Kip Moore, Maddie & Tae and Canaan Smith. Here’s what Dierks had to say about his choices:

“There have been tours in my career that I thought would be impossible to top, and the past 12 months certainly rank as some of the best and most fun nights of my life,” said Bentley. “I expect 2015 to beat all of it. II’ve really loved having three other artists out there with us…just more fun on and off the stage and knowing that the fans are getting more music for their money is important to me. Kip, Maddie & Tae and Canaan are three of the hottest rising artists out there right now, and I feel fortunate to be spending the summer with them. If our first ‘tour meeting’ is any indication, they are up for anything, which is awesome. No one is going to have more fun this summer than us!”

These are certainly some interesting choices by Bentley. The most eye-catching act of course is Maddie & Tae who captured country music fans and critics attentions everywhere in 2014 with the polarizing “Girl in a Country Song.” 2015 is going to be a big year for the duo, as they will be releasing their first full album and will look to prove they’re not a one-trick pony. Kudos to Bentley for giving them the opportunity. This is also probably the best and most logical artist for Maddie & Tae to tour with, as it would have been awkward seeing them open for Florida Georgia Line or Luke Bryan.

Kip Moore is pretty hit and miss with me. A lot of people think he could break out this year, but I’ll wait and see. Moore has yet to impress me nor disappoint me. As for Canaan Smith, well….I’m not really a fan. His pop country offerings have been bland and vanilla. But hey two out of three isn’t bad, Dierks!

Bentley also decided to have some quality bonding time with his new tour mates by having them participate in his annual polar plunge, even though Bentley says it was a complete surprise to them. Bentley and his tour mates had some pretty funny comments about this. If you want to see the video for it, click here. Also Bentley tried getting Kip Moore to wear a bikini. Thankfully that didn’t happen.

Anybody planning on getting tickets for this tour? What do you think of Bentley’s choices for his opening acts?

I think this will be a great show! My only Dierks show has been when he opened up for Brad Paisley about 5 or 6 years ago, and Dierks stole the show. His 45 minute set was miles ahead of Brad’s full set, in my opinion. I love the choice of Kip and M&T. I’ve seen Kip before too and enjoyed his show. I think these two guys tread the line well as far as good time party songs and meaningful songs. Dierks does a better job of it than Kip Moore, but they’re two of my favorites.

This will give good exposure to Maddie and Tae as well. I think their EP showed more of what their capable of and who they’ll be, and that should mix well with those two guys. Never listed to Canaan Smith so I have no opinion on his inclusion here. Haha. Depending on ticket prices and the date; this would be worth the short drive down to Dallas!

Yeah I’ve never been to a Dierks show yet, but I’ve always heard high praise from people who went to them and your experience sounds no different. As I said I have yet to be blown away by Kip, but I’m going to give his music a thorough listen soon. Maddie & Tae will definitely get exposure from this and will definitely boost their album sales when they release their first full album. You’re not missing much with Smith though. Trust me. Haha! I might try to get some tickets when he comes through Ohio, as I see he’s making three different stops throughout the tour.

He is coming to my hometown (Buffalo) as part of a festival as the headliner. The only two acts announced so far are Dierks and Joe Nichols, with more to be announced soon. I really hope the other two acts are Kip and M&T. I have seen Dierks twice already and all I can say is you need to see him haha. He played Bourbon In Kentucky in his set MONTHS after it had peaked. Its not just a greatest hits show with him. And btw Josh, I had the same thoughts on Kip when I heard “Somethin Bout A Truck”. His debut album is pretty good and his new stuffs been good too. Better than a lot of the new males out there. I already have my tickets to see this show so hopefully the other acts being announced are those 3. (I’m ok with Canaan i guess haha)
