George Strait just held a press conference live and made two huge announcements. The first was that he’s doing headlining concerts at the new Las Vegas Arena in Paradise, Nevada. The concert dates will take place in 2016, on April 22 and April 23 along with September 9 and September 10. The other major announcement is that he’s releasing a new album titled Cold Beer Conversationthis Friday. That’s not a typo either. It’s being released on Friday September 25. It is now exclusively available for pre-order via Apple Music and Walmart. The press conference, aptly titled Strait To Vegas, is ongoing at this moment, where he will be taking questions. For those catching the post at a later time, you can watch it in full too.

This is absolutely huge and surprising news. Strait pulled a Beyoncé on us! And thanks to the great Windmills Music, you can get an idea of what to expect as she has put together a track listing and co-writes for them. You can check all of that out by clicking here. We’ll be sure to have a review on this album as soon as we can. In the meantime get excited Strait fans. I know I am.

Update: Kacey Musgraves will be joining the concerts as a supporting act. More information can be found here.

Yeah, that’s just nuts. I’m sure I wasn’t the only one who wasn’t expecting such a short lead time.

I’ll be in the store first thing release day morning, though, just like I have been for every GS album since 1996’s Blue Clear Sky.

Awesome news! Man, Friday is going to be so clogged between George, Clint Black, and Don Henley. 3 on 1 against Thomas Rhett sounds good to me! 😉

Pleasant surprise here too, although I’m not too happy about it being available exclusively through Apple Music and Walmart. Hopefully it’ll be out on Spotify soon enough, since that’s what I use to listen to my music.

Zack: I think we’re going to need it. 😉

I don’t want any of my post read Josh but why would you call me that. Your so right about George Strait I am glad he is coming back out with new song’s again. Please this reply is just to you. I am sorry but i do know Michael Ray very well and know what it took for him to get where he is. He would sing for free anywhere anyone would let him sing. Sick kid’s he would sing and give the money to them. I am his Aunt.
    Thanks for your note back

I apologize for calling you an idiot. My anger got the best of me and it was out of line. I did not know you were his aunt and it explains why you would have such a passionate stance on him. You have to understand I get hate comments on a weekly basis from people for simply having a disagreement over what I wrote. It’s simply my opinion and it isn’t the end all be all for music. I have no problem with people disagreeing with me too and encourage it in fact as long as it is done in a civil manner. I want passionate discussions on my blog, not angry arguments. I’ve never met Michael and the negative reviews written about him or anyone on this site are not attacks against them. We only review the music and solely the music at hand when it comes to review. Again I apologize for my insult and I hope we can get along better in our future interactions.

Thank you Josh, It’s sad country music is not what it use, to be more so that it will never be again. I love the song Michael has called Some where South and he, does to. I can tell you why Real men love Jesus was picked. That song was to his grandpa who passed away just days before Kiss you in the morning was released. His grandpa passed away Feb 4th. If you ever have a question i’ll do my best. You wondered why he pick that song. I know we can get along Thanks again
