Rising independent country artist Cody Jinks made his national television debut last night on Conan. He performed the title track off of his latest album I’m Not The Devil. I have to say he did a pretty good job and I think it was an excellent song choice for his debut and to introduce himself to new fans. The general consensus seems to be pretty positive to the performance. It’s been a busy time for Jinks lately, who also released a cover of Pink Floyd’s “Wish You Were Here” earlier in the week. Check out his performance on Conan below:

Is Ward Davis playing the keyboard? If so, pretty cool to have him on the set since he cowrote the song. Speaking of, have you reviewed his album “15 years in a 10 year town”? I can’t stop listening to it!

I believe so and wouldn’t be surprised.

Must you repeatedly copy Triggers material?

Posting a video of a performance is not “copying”. Rolling Stone posted it also, did they copy Trigger too? There’s room for more than one website covering actual quality country music. I’m sure Cody doesn’t mind more people sharing it, why do you?

Must you SCM trolls constantly accuse me of this? He doesn’t have the patent on country music coverage. God forbid I cover the same topic he does and get accused of stealing material. Every country music blog covered this performance, but yet I’m stealing material. If you’re trolling it’s pretty weak and stale at this point. If you’re not trolling, you’re a fucking idiot.

If copying material entails spreading good music to fans, then what’s the harm?
Regardless, it’s a video – doesn’t belong to any of us, and Josh didn’t copy from Trigger.
